The holiday season is coming to the Walt Disney World Resort on November 8th this year! Disney is sharing that guests will be able to “experience joy through the Walt Disney World Resort” this year in more ways than ever before! Starting on November 8th, the halls will be decked and there will be lots of holiday experiences offered!
Magic Kingdom
The Magic Kingdom is even more magical during the holiday season. There will be holiday decorations, the sparkling castle, sweet treats, and more! The result is one of the most enchanting experiences for guests at the Walt Disney World Resort. For those guests that want a little more holiday magic, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party returns on select nights starting November 8. Each of these Christmas parties will offer exclusive showings of Holiday Wishes fireworks along with performances of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas and Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration stage show. On top of all that, Cinderella’s castle will glisten beautifully. Guests will receive complimentary cookies and cocoa. Disney characters will all be dressed in the holiday best for the Christmas parties! All of this makes Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party one of the most festive experiences at Walt Disney World.
Epcot
Starting on November 18th, the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays will begin. This will give guests the chance to experience the various holidays of the 11 world showcase nations. There will be several other special offerings during the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. Holiday Kitchens will be serving up seasonal treats from around the world. Various countries will celebrate their holiday traditions with special entertainment. For those who enjoy scavenger hunts, Chip & Dale’s Christmas Tree Spree will offer guests a chance to search out these chipmunks and ornaments. The maps will be $6.99 (plus tax). At the conclusion of the scavenger hunt, guests will be able to get a special surprise. A special holiday finale will be added to IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. Finally, starting on November 22nd the Candlelight Processional will be presented three times a night through December 30th.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
There is a lot to celebrate at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. From November 8, 2018 – January 6, 2019, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be celebrating the holidays. One of the highlights is sure to be the new Toy Story Land, which will be decked out for the holidays. The Alien Swirling Saucers will get some seasonal music as people spin around. Over on the Hollywood Tower Hotel, Sunset Seasons Greetings returns. This projection show will show many favorite Disney characters sharing their favorite seasonal stories. This show will also include lasers and “snow.” Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!
will also return this year with state-of-the-art projections, fireworks, special effects, and music for this one-of-a-kind holiday experience. Over in the Once Upon a Time shop, Santa will be meeting guests from November 10 – December 24. Santa Goofy will then step in starting on December 25th.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be adding a new celebration this year. It will celebrate the tradition of Diwali, the Festival of Lights in India in the new show UP! A Great Bird Adventure. This will begin on November 8th. Throughout this show guests will get to join Russel and Dug from Disney-Pixar’s Up as they discover some of the world’s most exotic birds.
Disney Springs
Once again, Disney Springs is an incredible place to visit during the holiday. There, guests can do holiday shopping, dine, and experience holiday magic. This year the Christmas Tree Trail returns. Guests will be able to view a beautiful collection of holiday trees that are themed to Disney characters. Over at Santa’s Chalet, Santa Claus will be meeting guests and hearing what they have on their Christmas wish lists. Santa Goofy will take his place beginning Dec. 25th and remain through Dec. 31. Finally, guests can participate in Stitch’s Holiday Gift Hunt and search for Stitch throughout Disney Springs.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
Throughout the Walt Disney World Resorts, there will be different celebrations of the holiday season. This includes life-sized edible creations! At Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, there will be a life-sized holiday gingerbread house will be home for The Bake Shop. At this shop, guests will pick up holiday treats, including the namesake gingerbread. Over at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, a life-size, edible spinning carousel will return. A holiday village with a miniature train will delight guests at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Massive Christmas trees will be on display at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. New Year Celebration at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Ring in the new year in two of the most magical of ways at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Pixar Party: A New Year’s Eve Celebration and Disney Countdown to Midnight, including an option to purchase VIP access to the Ink and Paint Club. Each of these celebrations will include entertainment, music, food, and refreshments. They will also include viewing of the Magic Kingdom New Year’s Eve fireworks.
