Disney Parks Blog has released information on the Lamplight Lounge which will open at Pixar Pier on June 23. It is taking the place of the Cove Bar and Ariel’s Grotto. The style will be a gastro-pub and will feature a full bar. The building is supposed to retain some features of the original, but there are some details that will greatly change.
It will be rethemed to be an old warehouse. Brick walls and exposed steel structure will help tell that story. It will also have pieces of napkin art and left collectibles that Pixar “regulars” have contributed. In that way, the lounge is about the making of the Pixar films, not as much the characters.
The Cove Bar will reopen one last time on March 16 and close at the end of May to make way for the new lounge.
