Pirates of the Caribbean's Johnny Depp Injured on Location in Australia

With the filming of the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean in progress, reports from Variety online say Johnny Depp has been injured on location. He said to fly back to the United States for surgery.


Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is currently shooting on location in Australia. As for Depp’s injury, there are no reports to the extent of what exactly the injury consists of. Also noted in the article, he was not hurt while working.

The film is set for a release date of July 7, 2017. There is no word if this incident will cause a delay in the production. A report on IGN mentions that the crew will shoot scenes with other character and scenes not involving Depp as they await for his return after recovery. It is expected that it will be several weeks till he returns.
