On this day in 1991, ‘Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken’ was released by Walt Disney Pictures. It adapts the true story of Sonora Webster Carver, told in her memoir ‘A Girl and Five Brave Horses.’ During the Great Depression, Sonora is an orphan who runs away to become a rider of diving horses. She forms a special bond with a wild horse as well as with Al, the son of the show owner. Sonora’s vision is impaired after a risky high jump, but she refuses to give up diving and finds happiness along the way.
