There has been a lot of change happening around Disneyland Paris. The transformations weren’t just restricted to Walt Disney Studios becoming Disney Adventure World and its added offerings. Between Disneyland Paris and Disney Adventure World, there is the shopping, entertainment, and dining district called Disney Village. The Disney Village has also been transforming as well.
Already, new restaurants and boutiques have opened in Disney Village. Next week, the Disney Wonders shop will be opening. All of this is happening as the first phase of the transformation wraps up and a new chapter is set to begin. “Disney Village has always been much more than simply a route between our Parks and our Hotels. Today, we are strengthening that role even further, making it a destination in its own right, where guests can arrive earlier, take a break between visits, or extend their day well into the evening,” said Jillian DeKunder, Director, Operating Participants at Disneyland Paris.
The first phase of the transformation kicked off in December 2023 with the opening of Brasserie Rosalie. This dining destination offers French cuisine. As this phase wraps up, Disneyland Paris is providing a look at what is coming to Disney Village through 2027.
Disney Wonders
On September 22, 2026, Disney Wonders will open in Disney Village. This is a bright and contemporary boutique where the magic of Disney storytelling will accompany guests as they shop.
The outside of the building will feature original artwork inspired by Peter Pan, Star Wars, and Toy Story. These designs are meant to be as striking during the day as they are at night. Once inside, guests will discover some impressive central chandeliers that feature over 40 finely crafted illustrations. They will pay tribute to iconic characters from the worlds of Disney and Pixar. Guests will be guided by illuminated boxes that feature Marvel and Star Wars characters.
Disney Wonders is meant to be an immersive shopping experience. Throughout the shop, there will be new surprises to be found on each visit. This will offer new ways to discover Disney products as guests experience the stories and worlds that inspire them. Great attention has been given to getting every detail perfect. This includes the two transaction areas that celebrate the artistry of Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios, respectively. There are illustrations that are inspired by iconic scenes from each studio that are brought to life by Tinker Bell’s pixie dust and Pixar’s Luxo Jr.’s lamp. These “Magical Moments” will add another layer of magic and storytelling to the shopping experience.
“Disney Wonders will offer a completely reimagined shopping experience, designed to bring Disney’s biggest franchises to life through themed spaces and contemporary staging,” said Jean-David Marque, Vice President, Merchandise Product & Operations.
Casa Giulia
Casa Giulia will be open by the end of 2026. It is located at the entrance to Disney Village and is just a short walk from the cinema and World of Disney. This is operated by Groupe Bertrande, the partner behind Brasserie Rosalie. This family Italian restaurant is two stories tall and will offer around 260 seats. There will be an additional 120 seats found on an outdoor terrace.
When guests visit later this year, they will see architecture that is inspired by Italian textures and architectural codes. This will create a space that combines terrazzo, brick, and wood, with abundant greenery. This will create a warm and natural setting for this beautiful new venue.
Casa Giulia will serve many of the great classics that are a part of Italian cuisine. They will be served generously and made from authentic recipes. The menu will be seasonal and accompanied by a variety of drinks and Italian cocktails.
This restaurant will also include Giulia Express. This will be a quick-service restaurant that will include a takeout option. It will have a 40-seat outdoor terrace, serving pizza by the slice, focaccia, along with traditional Italian pastries and ice creams.
Pathé Cinema (formerly Gaumont)
The cinema in Disney Village first opened in 1997. Formerly Gaumont, the Pathé Cinema will get a comprehensive refurbishment. This will ultimately deliver a more contemporary, comfortable, and immersive experience for guests. This will offer the best cinema experience that Pathé can offer. It will feature a new facade by Ora-ïto that will integrate it more seamlessly with the architecture of Disney Village. There will also be fully refurbished auditoriums that will include recliner seating, enhanced projection systems, a Pathé Café that will include expanded food and beverage offerings, a reimagined Häagen-Dazs area that will include an outdoor terrace, and a Pathé Games area for leisure and entertainment. This will be a great place for people to hang out before or after catching a movie.
This project will be delivered in phases. The first stage will begin in September. This will allow the cinema to remain largely open throughout the transformation. Auditoriums will be refurbished in batches. This will happen as the transformation of the public areas and exterior also takes place.
Vapiano
Vapiano has been open for 10 years at Disney Village. This is a fast-casual Italian restaurant. It will be closing at the end of 2026 to see a complete redesign and modernisation of its interior. The redesign will provide a more contemporary, neutral palette, with some touches of red to connect with the brand, with focus also paid to natural light. The upper floor will include a new children’s play area. The terrace will get new furniture and planted décor. The refresh should be completed in early 2027.
Annette’s Diner
Several months ago, Annette’s Diner closed for an extensive refurbishment. It is set to open in 2027. When it does, guests will once again get to experience the retro spirit and charm that has made it a fan favorite since originally opening in 1992. This will be done in a reimagined space with a refreshed look.
The transformation includes an expansion of the restaurant’s kitchens. This will create a better working environment as a former currency exchange office and takeaway area is being repurposed. The dining room is also being redesigned. From flooring to furniture, everything will be updated. The new booths will be pink, blue, and vanilla yellow that is inspired by the styling of 1950s car interiors.
“Our aim is to surprise guests with a restaurant that stays true to the spirit they love, while feeling more comfortable, more modern and fully refreshed. We sincerely hope they’ll experience a real ‘wow’ moment when they step into Annette’s Diner, while still finding the retro atmosphere and delicious burgers they enjoy so much,” said Keith Rector, Senior Manager, Creative Art Direction at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris.
There will be several distinctive touches to be found when Annette’s Diner reopens. The service counter will feature a more enclosed frontage that is inspired by classic American diners. It will combine chrome and steel with pastel lighting that is reminiscent of neon. There will be a bar canopy that says “Diner” and Welcome” found above it. A totem will also be installed, taking inspiration from the classic American “googie” architecture. The iconic jukeboxes, which were originally installed next to the booths, will be completely restored and repositioned as decorative wall features. There will also be a new wallpaper that is being created especially for Annet’s Diner. It will add playful 1950s-inspired details throughout the restaurant and feature pastel burger, milkshake, and jukebox motifs. The restaurant will continue to be presented by Ben & Jerry’s. This presence will also be highlighted during the refurbishment.
The terrace will also reopen outside with new paving and new trees. This will create an enjoyable space on lovely days.
Disney Enchanted Christmas at Disney Village
When Disney Enchanted Christmas kicks off at Disneyland Paris, there will be new festive fun to be found throughout Disney Village starting in November. These new decorations will add a touch of holiday magic during this merry time of year.
Throughout Disney Village, there will be Christmas trees found along with giant decorative snowflakes. These will be inspired by Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars characters. They are being created with the support of Coca-Cola. There will also be new photo opportunities to enjoy throughout Disney Village. This will add to the magic of the holidays.
Sports Bar & Lounge will also be receiving extra festive touches that include Christmas wreaths and garlands. There will also be some holiday surprises offered throughout the season in Disney Village. This will include an exclusive postcard that will be available from select Cast Members (while supplies last) and a limited-edition Christmas coaster by Coca-Cola. These will be available for guests who order a Coca-Cola beverage at Sports Bar & Lounge.
South Block
The current phase of the transformation is drawing to a close. This has been primarily focused on what is known as the North Block. The next phase of the transformation of Disney Village will be focused across the street on the South Block.
Already, teams from Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, Operating Participants, and Design & Delivery are working hard on creating what the transformation of the North Block will be like. The approach is ambitious as the teams work to continue with the Disney Village evolution. This is being done in a way that is coherent and harmonious as the area is modernized while still keeping the area available for guests.
The following concept art gives a look at what the next stage of the Disney Village transformation will look like. This will see the combination of wood, brick, and perforated steel defining the architectural language. Work on this phase is set to begin next year.
The details of this new phase will be shared at a later date. One thing that should be noted is that the Rainforest Café will be permanently closing by the end of this year. Disneyland Paris shared that more details about the upcoming changes will be shared in the coming months.
