More Information About Disney “Hexed” Revealed at CinemaCon

After first being announced at Destination D23 in August 2025, there is now more information about Disney Hexed, which will be released in theaters on November 25.

Announced at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, this original Walt Disney Animation Studios animated film follows an awkward teenager and her Type A mom who discover that what makes her unusual might just be magical powers that will turn their lives—and a secret world of magic—upside down. The feature will be directed by Josie Trinidad and Jason Hand, with Roy Conli and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones producing. Jared Bush, chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios, will be the film’s executive producer. Hailee Steinfeld will voice the teenage lead, Billie Doe, with Rashida Jones voicing her mother, Alice.

Disney is coming off the record-breaking success of last year’s Zootopia 2, which became the highest-grossing animated film of all time with $1.7 billion at the global box office by beating Inside Out 2. Zootopia 2 surpassed Frozen 2 as Disney’s biggest animated film ever and was 2025’s highest-grossing movie. However, original animation has proved to be more erratic. This spring’s Hoppers from Pixar Animation Studios was a hit, but other films that weren’t sequels, such as Elio and Luca, which were also Pixar films, have struggled to draw crowds.
