Disney Cruise Line and Port of San Diego Announce Extension of Homeport Partnership Through 2031

The Disney Cruise LIne and the Port of San Diego announced an extension to their partnership through at least 2031. This will see a doubling of annual sailing by Disney from the port each year. This will give guests even more opportunities to embark on magical vacations with visits to Catalina Island, Baja and the Mexican Riviera, and enjoy a broader ranger of seasonal itineraries with more frequent departures.

“San Diego has been an important part of our West Coast operations for more than a decade, and a place our guests love sailing from,” said Jose Fernandez, Vice President of Port Strategy, Development & Operations, Disney Cruise Line. “This new agreement supports our long-term growth and helps us continue contributing to the region’s economy.”

With this agreement, Disney secures non-exclusive priority access to the Port of San Diego’s North and South berths at the B Street cruise terminal. This will help enhance the arrival experience for passengers and also help the Port maximize the use of its cruise ship terminals. This comes as San Diego sees more cruise calls and passengers at the Port.

“We are grateful to continue our long-standing relationship with Disney Cruise Line,” said Chair Ann Moore, Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners. “This agreement not only enhances business operations between the Port, Disney and all our cruise line partners – it also supports a thriving cruise industry that injects millions into the region’s economy and welcomes thousands of visitors to our waterfront each year.”

Throughout the course of the agreement, Disney anticipates over 1 million passengers to go through the Port. This is the first time in more than 20 years that any cruise line has offered a minimum annual guarantee at the Port of San Diego. Disney Cruise Line’s seasonal call on San Diego will continue to bring economic benefits to the area, support local businesses, and fuel jobs tied to the cruise operations, tourism, and port activity.

Since 2012, Disney Cruise Line has been a proud member of the San Diego community. It continues to remain committed to making meaningful and positive impacts in the region. This includes collaborations with local nonprofits that focus on youth empowerment and environmental conservation.

The Disney Cruise Line also recently provided career development and financial literacy opportunity to local students from Junior Achievement of San Diego and collaborated with San Diego Coastkeepers to help protect California’s natural beauty along the coastline.

As Disney Cruise Line continues to grow in an unprecedented way, this new agreement will promise that San Diego will be a primary gateway for Disney magic at sea on the West Coast.

For its 2026-2027 season, two Disney Cruise Line ships will be heading to San Diego. This will be significantly expanding the West Coast sailing options from Disney. In October, the Disney magic will arrive with three- to seven-night voyages through November being offered. This will be followed by a 14-night Panama Canal sailing to Galveston. The Disney Wonder will make San Diego its home port from October 2026 through April 2027. This ship will offer three- to seven-night itineraries to destinations that include Catalina Island, Cabo San Lucas, Ensenada, and Puerto Vallarta.
