Over 500 Behind-the-Scenes Star Wars Photos Going Up For Sale with Propstore’s Entertainment Memorabilia Auction

Next week, Propstore’s Entertainment Memorabilia Auction will see over 500 behind-the-scenes photos from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi available to bid on for the first time. These photos will go to the highest bidder and be among a much larger auction that is expected to bring in $9 million on over 1,500 lots from across Hollywood history. This auction takes place from March 15 to March 27.

The photos come from visual effects artist Stuart Ziff, who captured the technical, gritty photos that show a behind-the-scenes look at the process of filming this classic movie. These photos give a unique look at the lives of the cast and crew when the camera wasn’t rolling. This collection includes a variety of photos that range from the interior of R2-D2’s head to Han Solo (Harrison Ford) in costume to crane set-ups for overhead shots. These photos are treasures that Star Wars fans will appreciate and find new things in.

Stuart Ziff worked on miniature and optical effects for Star Wars: A New Hope, props for The Empire Strikes Back, and as chief articulation engineer for Return of the Jedi, where he took these photographs. He shared: “I never set out to create a collection like this. I was part of the team, and these photographs were just moments I felt were worth capturing at the time. They reflect what it was really like to be there, behind the scenes, during an extraordinary production, and I’m excited that more fans will now have the chance to see them through the Propstore auction.”
