On this day in 2011, Kim Irvine, former Imagineer and Art Director for Disneyland, received the Buzz Price Thea Award from the Themed Entertainment Association. Irvine was the first woman to receive this lifetime achievement award. She began work at WED Enterprises straight out of high school in 1970. Her career with Disney lasted for 55 years. Irvine was responsible for keeping Walt Disney’s vision for the park alive, as well as moving it forward with new projects. [15 years ago in 2026]
