Disneyland Resort President Thomas Mazloum Promoted to Chairman of Disney Experiences

In January 2025, Thomas Mazloum was named President of the Disneyland Resort. Today, he was promoted to lead Disney Experiences. He came to this role after being the president of New Experiences Portfolio & Disney Signature Experiences. Mazloum held many other leadership positions within The Walt Disney Company throughout his career. This includes leadership positions at Walt Disney World Resort, where he oversaw Resorts, Transportation, ESPN Wide World of Sports, Club 33, Disney Springs, and more. His next role will see him overseeing all of Disney’s parks, experiences, and products. He takes the role from Josh D’Amaro, who has been promoted to CEO of The Walt Disney Company. Both will enter their new roles officially next week. This is the same day that current Disney CEO Bob Iger is set to retire.

Incoming Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro said of the promotion, “Thomas Mazloum is an exceptional leader with a genuine appreciation for our cast members and a proven track record of delivering growth. His focus on service excellence, broad international leadership, and strong connection to the creativity that brings our stories to life make him the right leader to guide Disney Experiences into its next chapter.”

Thomas Mazloum has led the Disneyland Resort with three key principles. These principles are Quality, Simplicity, and Trust. These three principles were coupled with three business priorities of current customer happiness, a relentless focus on a new audience, and cast members (the glue that holds everything together). During his time at the Disneyland Resort, hospitality has been a key focal point. This has come from multiple different angles. These include the human connection between cast members and guests, working to keep attractions working with less downtime, and making the Disneyland Resort more accessible for young families. It would be unsurprising if he carried these principles, priorities, and focal points with him into his new role. If this is the case, the benefits that have been seen at the Disneyland Resort since he took its top job could be seen globally in the Disney parks, cruise lines, resorts, and beyond.

Mazloum’s Disney careerbegan in 1998 as a hotel director for Disney Cruise Line and later served as General Manager of Food & Beverage and Special Events at EPCOT. Before returning to Disney in 2017, he served as the Chief Operating Officer for Crystal Cruise Line. He has a degree in hotel management and administration from Innsbruck. He also has several business certifications from institutions, including Cornell University, the Hotel School of Lausanne, and the Hotel School of Salzburg.

At the Disneyland Resort, Mazloum will be replaced by Jill Estorino. Other changes in the corporate structure for Disney Experiences include Tasia Filippatos moving to President, Disney Parks International, and Lisa Baldzicki becoming President, Disney Consumer Products.
