Astro-Jets | DISNEY THIS DAY | March 24, 1956

On this day in 1956, the Astro-Jets first opened at Disneyland. They were an early version of the Astro Orbiter that can be found at multiple Disney parks. The Astro-Jets replaced the Court of Honor state flag planter at the back of Tomorrowland. The spinning “flat ride” was built by the German Kaspar Klaus Company. It allowed guests to soar about 35 feet in the air inside one of 12 jets, each named after a star. The attraction saw name and location changes over the years, but still delights guests today!
