Since the Disneyland Resort added its reservation system, there have been limitations on park hopping. Initially, park hopping wasn’t allowed before 1:00 PM. This was eventually updated to allow guests with park-hopping tickets or Magic Keys to switch parks at 11:00 AM. This is not the end of the story, however. The Disneyland Resort will be dropping the 11:00 park hopping time. The news was shared with select members of the media by Thomas Mazloum, President of the Disneyland Resort.
The dropping of the 11:00 AM park hopping time comes after discussion by Mazloum and his team. This comes from efforts by Mazloum to make things simpler for guests who visit the Disneyland Resort. Since arriving at the resort in 2025, Mazloum has been working on ways to make the guest experience the best it possibly can be. Mazloum shared that he believes this can be done by making many small changes and focusing on the fundamentals.

During the discussion, Mazloum said, “As we celebrate 70 years of the Disneyland Resort, we’re also building for the future by focusing on the relevancy and quality of our product – simplifying the guest experience and bringing exciting new attractions and entertainment to The Happiest Place on Earth.”
Mazloum shared how he and his team have been looking at all of the different parts of the Disneyland Resort. This ranges from the growth of the resort and its new attractions, hospitality, reliability, accessibility for families, and a whole lot more. The wide-ranging conversation shared about his philosophy, priorities, principles, and focus as he leads the Disneyland Resort forward.
The decision to drop the 11:00 park hopping rule is one of many initiatives that the Disneyland Resort is unveiling in efforts to make the Disney experience the best it can be. Another way this is being done is by keeping Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! open throughout 2026. This came out of the recognition of the need for this family-friendly attraction for young families. There will also be a discounted hot dog meal for kids that will be $5.99 in the future, Bluey’s Best Day Ever, and throughout the summer, there is a kid ticket discount to make The Happiest Place on Earth as accessible for families as possible. Deals can be found at Disneyland.com/offers.
At this point, the timeline and details for the dropping of the 11:00 AM park hopping rule have not been revealed. What is known is that it has been decided upon, and guests will be able to park hop once they have entered the park, for which they have reservations and valid park admission.
In the near future, Daps Magic will be sharing more about this conversation with Thomas Mazloum and his team.
