Nordic Crowns Tavern - World of Frozen - Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris Shares Look at Nordic Crowns Tavern

Next month, Walt Disney Studios will become Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris. With the relaunch of this park, the World of Frozen will also open to the world at Disneyland Paris. This area will allow guests to experience the Frozen franchise stories and the people who brought them to life like never before at Disneyland Paris. There will be many experiences to be had and places to visit in the World of Frozen. One of them will be the Nordic Crowns Tavern.

Ahead of the opening of World of Frozen, Disneyland Paris shared what guests can expect when they visit this tavern in Arendelle. This is billed as a cozy tavern that has a welcoming setting. See what Disneyland Paris said about this tavern below!

Set on the shores of a fjord, the Kingdom of Arendelle has long thrived on maritime trade. It’s only fitting, then, that Nordic Crowns Tavern, located just steps from the harbour, has become a favourite gathering place for travellers and sailors looking to enjoy a hearty meal between voyages. Inside, the warm wood-panelled décor is rich in nautical touches: maritime charts and paintings of majestic fjords line the walls, while shelves are filled with model ships and books recounting the expeditions that shaped Arendelle’s history.

For the exterior design, the teams at Walt Disney Imagineering took inspiration from Bergen in Norway, especially its UNESCO-listed Bryggen district. Known for its wooden buildings arranged around shared walkways, Bryggen creates the impression that two houses share a single entrance – an architectural idea the Imagineers felt perfectly reflected the world of Frozen, built around the powerful bond between Anna and Elsa.

“We also applied Anna and Elsa’s colours to the two buildings at the entrance to Nordic Crowns Tavern, with green on one side and blue and purple on the other, echoing the dresses they wear at Elsa’s coronation,” explains Emma Yeates, Senior Manager, Show Design at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris.

The royal sisters also take pride of place inside Nordic Crowns Tavern: their official portraits are prominently displayed in the main hall, framed by sumptuous drapery at the foot of the staircase leading to the upper floor, which is not accessible to guests. The restaurant’s upper level is reserved exclusively for the royal family, who gather there to dine or celebrate special occasions.

Nordic Crowns Tavern features many other nods to the Frozen stories. Among the paintings, guests will recognise portraits of notable figures from the Kingdom of Arendelle, including Olaf, Lieutenant Mattias and the water spirit Nokk, as well as the Royal Sommerhus – the royal family’s summer residence located at EPCOT, Walt Disney World. The most charming detail of all is the cat perched above the entrance door, a reference to one of the two cats that appear in the 2017 short film Olaf’s Frozen Adventure; the second can be found at Golden Crocus Inn in Hong Kong Disneyland.

To extend the immersive experience to the plate, Disneyland Paris Food & Beverage teams have created a menu inspired by Norwegian and broader Scandinavian cuisine. Guests can savour dishes featuring salmon or meatballs (available in poultry or vegan options), along with mostly frozen desserts adorned with subtle references to Frozen, such as the crocus flower, the official emblem of Arendelle.

When World of Frozen opens on 29 March 2026, Nordic Crowns Tavern is set to become a must-visit dining destination for guests of all ages, as the perfect place to refuel between the extraordinary adventures awaiting them in the heart of Disney Adventure World.
