The Disney Cruise Line has a new leader. This week, it was announced that Tracy Wilson will be taking the helm of the magical cruises. She takes on the role of Senior Vice President and General Manager, Disney Cruise Line Operations. This comes after the retirement of Sharon Siskie, the longtime leader who led Disney Cruise Line through some of the most transformative periods since its inception.
“Tracy is an extraordinary leader whose passion for Disney storytelling and deep operational expertise make her uniquely suited to guide Disney Cruise Line into its next era,” said Joe Schott, president, Disney Signature Experiences. “As our fleet expands and we bring even more magic to families around the world, Tracy’s visionary approach, strategic mindset and genuine care for our cast, crew and guests will continue to elevate the Disney difference at sea.”
About Tracy Wilson
Wilson has been with Disney for over 30 years. She is known for her collaborative leadership style and dedication to creating a world-class experience. Her new rolewill have her overseeing all operational aspects of the Disney Cruise Line’s award-winning fleet and private island destinations.
Recently, Wilson served as Senior Vice President, Finance, Disney Signature Experiences. In this role, she led the strategic planning and negotiations that led to the construction of five new Disney Cruise Line ships. Disney shared that her leadership was instrumental in allowing the company to directly engage with the shipyard procuremember for the first time. This is seen as a groundbreaking achievement that will pave the way for sustained long-term growth.
Throughout her three-decade run with Disney, Wilson has been a key player in many of the company’s most iconic brands and experiences. She has held key roles in bringing magic to life at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and Disneyland Paris. Her global perspective was further expanded through her work with Disney Consumer Products. She also worked with Walt Disney Studios Global Theatrical Marketing and Distribution. There, she helped lead the Lucasfilm and Marvel integrations with The Walt Disney Company and had a front row seat tos ee how Disney stories inspire families and fans everywhere.
Moving Forward
The appointment of Wilson to this new role comes as the Disney Cruise Line continues through a time of ambitious growth. This will include the maiden voyage of the Disney Adventure in March as it joins the fleet. Currently, plans are in place to expand the fleet to 13 ships by 2031. Wilson’s extensive experience and strategic leadership will play a crucial role in this growth moving forward.
