The former home of the Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney District continues to be demolished. As of Wednesday morning, this was more than 2/3rds complete. The building is being destroyed to make way for the future Porto’s Bakery and Cafe. Disney fans have eagerly watched as this building has been taken down, along with nearby ticket booths, in anticipation of the long-awaited Porto’s.

Friend of Daps Magic, Spencer, stopped by the Disneyland Resort on Wednesday morning and captured video and photos of work being done on this project. This comes one day after Daps Magic team member Steven shared an update. A significant difference can be seen from the point where it was on Tuesday versus where it is on Wednesday.

The construction of Porto’s isn’t the only change that is happening at the Downtown Disney District. In recent years, the district has seen a substantial transformation. This has seen some businesses get fresh new looks and/or menus, the arrival of new businesses, and even a new entertainment lawn and stage. The demolition of the former Earl of Sandwich is not the end for this restaurant at the Disneyland Resort. A temporary location can be found at the other end of the Downtown Disney District, and a permanent home is being built.
