On this day in 2022, the Walt Disney World Railroad reopened at the Magic Kingdom after a four-year hiatus. The Railroad was suspended in December 2018 for the construction of the TRON Lightcycle/Run attraction. The project included a new tunnel for the train to pass through. The Walt Disney World Railroad started as an opening day attraction in 1971. It transports over 3.7 million passengers every year using four locomotives and four sets of passenger cars.
