A new teaser has been released for The Muppet Show ahead of its arrival on Disney+ and ABC on February 4, 2026, as a special event. The teaser, the second released for the special, gives a look at what this show will actually be like this time around. This special could be viewed as a pilot for more episodes if it does well. It is also being released 50 years after the original run of The Muppet Show. The teaser was broadcast during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.
The teaser shows a host of fan-favorite Muppets, including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzy, Bauregard, Uncle Deadly, and of course, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. It also shows special guest Sabrina Carpenter and Seth Rogan. Take a look at this video from the ABC broadcast.
The Muppet Show special event is being executive-produced by Seth Rogen, who is appearing in the show as well. Sabrina Carpenter is the special guest for the program. The special will come to life with the performances of longtime Muppet performers Bill Barretta, Dave Goelz, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, David Rudman, and Matt Vogel. They will be joined by some other muppet performers to bring the show to life. Goelz was in the original version of The Muppet Show 50 years ago. He originated characters like Gonzo and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, and others.
Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, and Alex McAtee will be executive producing the special for Point Grey Pictures. Albertina Rizzo will write and executive produce; Alex Timbers will direct and executive produce. David Lightbody, Leigh Slaughter, and Michael Steinbach will be executive producers for The Muppets Studio. Matt Vogel and Eric Jacobson are also executive producers. 20th Television and Disney Branded Television will be bringing this new show to screens.
