A new teaser has been released for next year’s Avengers: Doomsday. This teaser is very simple but also quite powerful. It shows Chris Evans as Steve Rogers riding his motorcycle through the country and arriving at a house. Inside, he looks at his Captain America uniform before putting it back away in a chest. The final scene with Rogers shows him holding a baby. After the screen goes dark, letters appear on the screen saying: “Steve Rogers will return in Avengers: Doomsday.” Throughout all of this, a piano quietly plays The Avengers theme. Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026. Check out the teaser below!

The Russo brothers, who are directing the film, also posted this teaser on their Instagram with the following caption: “The character that changed our lives. The story that brought us all here together. It was always going to come back to this…” This comes after Chris Evans saying that he is “happily retired” from the role. Despite the disclaimer, multiple outlets reported that Evans would be returning for this film.
The last time Chris Evans appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe on screen was in Avengers: Endgame in 2019. At the end of this film, he passed his shield to Sam Wilson, who became the next Captain America.
