The Disneyland Resort has filed a permit for a future parking structure. This comes as Disneyland Resort begins to act on different parts of things included in DisneylandForward. This was one of several announcements made in connection with DisneylandForward earlier this year. It also continues a vision that was unveiled nearly a decade ago and then shot down by local businesses.

An 8-Level Parking Structure
The future parking structure will be found across Harbor Boulevard on the East side of the Disneyland Resort. Now, permits have been filed for 1585 S. Manchester Ave. This is currently a Cast Member parking lot. Once upon a time, it was also a guest parking lot. This will become a new entrance to the Disneyland Resort that will not just include parking but also a new pedestrian bridge that crosses Harbor Boulevard and then into a new esplanade entrance before guests enter the parks. This will create a new and vibrant entrance experience for the East side of the Disneyland Resort.
The first permit is for “Plumbing and Mechanical: Install onsite Utilities. This is permit BLD2025-06432 and is for an “East Parking Structure.” The second permit, BLD2025-06431, is for a 3.2 million square foot parking structure that will be 8 levels tall and also have vehicle chargers for 302 electric vehicles.

When the structure is completed, there will be room for 6,000 vehicles. There will also be a dedicated space for both shuttles and ride-sharing vehicles. On top of that, there will be security, a dedicated access way for traffic coming off of Disney Way, and the pedestrian bridge that will allow access to the Disneyland Resort from the new structure. The new parking structure promises to improve both the parking situation and traffic flow in and around the Disneyland Resort.
Moving Forward with DisneylandForward

As shown on the DisneylandForward map, the new parking structure was part of the proposed plan. This will provide more access for guests on the East side of the Disneyland Resort. It will also replace the Toy Story Parking Lot, which could become a new shopping, dining, and entertainment district. This is seen in the bottom-right quadrant of the map.
Work on this new parking structure is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2026.
There are quite a few other updates happening around the Disneyland Resort. Work continues on the Avengers Campus expansion with its two new attractions. A new attraction based on Pixar’s Coco is being built at Disney California Adventure. There will also be a new area dedicated to the world of Pandora as seen in the Avatar franchise. On top of all of that, the transformation of Downtown Disney District continues. Recently, lululemon opened on the West end of Downtown Disney District.
