The Life Day celebrations at Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge continue to grow. Along with having special food offerings and new merchandise, Chewbacca is celebrating by bringing some of his culture to Batuu. For a limited time, Chewbacca is appearing in his Life Day robes with his orb in the evenings at Black Spire Outpost. He arrives as day turns to evening and then meets with guests in the area around the Millennium Falcon. It really is quite impressive to see in person.
The Daps Magic team stopped by Disneyland this week to see Chewbacca in his Life Day robes. He was accompanied by Rey for the celebration as he came out in the evening. Below is a look at Chewbacca in his LifeDay robes with his orb.

Life Day was first introduced to Star Wars fans in the Star Wars Holiday Special. It has since been referred to elsewhere in a galaxy far, far away through the years. It is a celebration of family, joy, and harmony. This is rooted in Wookiee tradition from the Star Wars universe. Traditionally, Wookies would observe this holiday on their home planet of Kashyyyk at the Tree of Life. However, after the fall of the Empire, this tradition expanded throughout the galaxy. Other species that have adopted the holiday celebrate it with decorations, lights, music, and food, and focus on themes of freedom and peace. For all who celebrate Life Day, it is a time to come together and celebrate the themes that it started with.
