A Month of Thanksgiving - Muppets in the Parks

Muppets in the Parks – A Month of Thanksgiving

One of my favorite things is when I get to see Muppets in the parks. This is what I’m thankful for on this last day of A Month of Thanksgiving. This began with Muppet*Vision 3D in Disney California Adventure. For many years, this was the attraction that we would end our night with when visiting the second park at the Disneyland Resort. There were few things better in Disney California Adventure than ending the night with Kermit the Frog, Sweetums, Statler, and Waldorf.

This was followed by the Honorary Volunteers Cavalcade at Disneyland for “Give a Day. Get a Disney Day.” For this cavalcade, we could see Sweetums, Kermit, and Miss Piggy making their way along the parade route. Both of these were completely awesome. The third major Muppet offering in the parks at the Disneyland Resort was The Muppets Christmas Caroling Coach during Disney Merriest Nites. This was a fantastic offering that was short-lived. However short it was, it was full of fun!

Walt Disney World Resort also has some really fun offerings. For many years, Muppet*Vision 3D was a staple at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It was full of humor and really had some of the greatest Muppet jokes of all time! Soon, there will be a new Muppet offering in this park that hopefully will have some equally iconic humor! If I had a fool’s hope, I would hope that we would see Muppet*Vision 3D return somewhere.

Over in the Magic Kingdom, The Muppets Present … Great Moments in American History was an incredible offering in Liberty Square. This had two stories that were told. One focused on the Declaration of Independence. The other was the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere. Both were awesome. They were full of Muppet spirit while also adding to the story of the land in which the story was being told. In this case, it was the American origin story that fit with Liberty Square. I loved it, and as I write this, I can hear the theme song in my head.

I would LOVE to see more Muppets in the parks in the future. While I know we have Rock’n Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets coming next year, I selfishly would love more. I’m thankful for what we have coming. I’m thankful for what we have had. The Muppets simply make the world a happier place. They have great characters, great personalities, and great lessons they share. For these reasons, I’m thankful for the Muppets in the Disney Parks today.
