Tim Sypko Appointed as New President and Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland

After the appointment of Michael Moriarty as the new chief financial officer of Disney Experiences, a new president and managing director has been named at Hong Kong Disneyland. Tim Sypko, who has worked as senior vice president, operations for Hong Kong Disneyland in recent years, has been named to that role. This role comes to Sypko, who has 35 years with The Walt Disney Company.

Tim Sypko first came to Disney in 1990 at Walt Disney World Resort. He advanced in his career to lead a variety of operations, workforce management, guest experience development, and line of business leadership roles while there. His last role at Walt Disney World was vice president of Park Operations Line of Business at Walt Disney World Resort. During his tenure at Walt Disney World, he also helped with the opening of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the launch of FastPass+.

Along with announcing the new president and managing director, it was also announced that the current chief financial officer of Hong Kong Disneyland will be moving to the Disneyland Resort in California. Lesz Banham has been named the senior vice president, finance at Disneyland Resort. This will be effective in January 2026.

Lesz’s career at Disney also began in the 1990s at Walt Disney World Resort. Through the years, he has held multiple finance roles of increasing responsibility throughout the company. This includes Adventures by Disney, global business development, segment planning, and communications, and he also previously served as Shanghai Disney Resort’s chief financial officer.

During his time as Hong Kong Disneyland’s chief financial officer, Lesz has been an important part of positioning the resort for long-term growth. His broad experience will be leveraged at the Disneyland Resort as it moves forward with its ambitious plans for the future.
