Toy Story 5 may not be arriving in theaters until next year, but already Disney and Pixar are beginning to reveal things about the film that will certainly get fans excited. Last month at Destination D23, the first few minutes of the film were shown to those in attendance. There was plenty of laughter in the room as the opening of this movie revealed the beginning of the next chapter for these beloved toys.

This month, the first renderings of Woody and Buzz have been shared. As should be no surprise, technology continues to get more advanced. With this, these toys continue to look better and better. It really is incredible to look at the original versions of the characters from the Toy Story franchise in 1995 and then look at how far they have come in 30 years. They looked great then, and things just continue to improve!

As can be seen in the photos below, Woody and Buzz look fantastic and also have looks inspired by where they are in their stories. After giving away his badge in Toy Story 4, Woody no longer wears it. Buzz Lightyear now wears a star sticker on his chestplate.

In Toy Story 5, Buzzy, Woody, and Jessie find that their lives and jobs as toys have just gotten a lot harder with the introduction of electronics to playtime. This film promises to be a new adventure that is full of heart, humor, and relevance to where kids and toys are today. Toy Story 5 arrives in theaters on June 19, 2026.
