The question has often been asked in recent years, “can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?” For the last few years there has been lots of uncertainty about where the beloved children’s show would be broadcast. After the catalogue of older episodes was removed from what is now HBO Max, even more questions about where to find favorite Sesame Street episodes grew louder. Thankfully, now there is an answer for where to find older Sesame Street episodes in the future. It is headed to YouTube!

In an announcement that was made on social media, it was revealed that classic episodes of the program will be heading to YouTube in January 2026. New episodes will be arriving on Netflix and PBS. Here is the announcement:
Sesame Street debuted in 1969. It used live action, puppetry, music and more to teach kids the basics. Through the years, many iconic characters have been loved by viewers. This includes human characters and Jim Henson’s Muppets like Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, the Cookie Monster, Elmo, and many more!
As the landscape for both broadcast television and public broadcasting continues to change, many fans have worried what the future for Sesame Street would look like. For now, the future looks like Netflix, PBS, and YouTube.
