On this day in 2005, the Walt Disney World Information Center in Ocala, Florida, closed its doors after 18 years of service. Guests driving south to central Florida on I-75 reached this Disney oasis about an hour before arriving at Walt Disney World. Cast Members assisted travelers with purchasing resort tickets, placing dining and lodging reservations, and answering questions. Widespread use of the Internet reduced the demand for this kind of in-person assistance. [20 years ago in 2025]
