On this day in 1958, Disneyland sponsored Disney Night at the Hollywood Bowl. The entertainment included Disney music from a full orchestra, shenanigans from favorite characters like Chip and Dale, and a display of swordsmanship from Zorro. The highlight of the evening was Tinker Bell flying above the audience for 1,000 feet! Walt Disney was inspired to hire the 68-year-old aerialist Helen “Tiny Kline” to perform the same feat nightly at Disneyland starting in 1961.
