For Disney’s Miramax, he wrote and starred in ‘Sling Blade,’ for which he won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay and was nominated for Best Actor. Thornton’s Disney-related credits also include ‘Armageddon,’ ‘The Alamo,’ ‘Bad Santa,’ and Studio Ghibli’s ‘Princess Mononoke.’ He has received multiple awards and recognitions, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
