When Walt Disney – A Magical Life opens on July 17, 2025, at the Opera House in Disneyland, it will be utilizing a virtual queue. The Disneyland Resort announced that this complimentary service will be utilized rather than a standby queue for guests to experience the new attraction.
To utilize the virtual queue, guests may join via the Disneyland app. This can be done only once per day. There will be two opportunities to join the virtual queue. The first will be at 7:00 AM PT for those with park reservations that start at Disneyland. Another opportunity to join the virtual queue at 12:00 PM PT. This window is available for anyone with Disneyland park reservations or the park hopping option on their admission. More information about the virtual queue can be found here.
The utilization of a virtual queue for new attractions has become a common practice in recent years in the Disney parks. Virtual queues have been frequently utilized at both the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort for new attractions like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and others. The virtual queue for Walt Disney – A Magical Life will continue to be used as long as demand necessitates, and then a standby queue will take its place. It is possible that a virtual queue could return after a standby queue is implemented, based on how busy the attraction is.
Walt Disney – A Magical Life will be opening at Disneyland’s Opera House on July 17, 2025. When it does, guests will get to experience a cinematic storytelling of Walt Disney’s life. This will culminate with a visit with Walt Disney himself in his office in Audio-Animatronic form.
Along with the opening of this new experience, July 17, 2025, will also see the opening of a new experience at the Main Street Cinema that will be a tribute to the Sherman Brothers. In Fantasyland, the finale verse will debut in it’s a small world.
