Vintage Disneyland VIP Hostess Costume

Vintage Disneyland VIP Hostess Costume Now on Display at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

As Disneyland officially turns 70 on July 17th, some fun things are popping up that showcase the legacy of seven decades of Disney magic in Anaheim. This includes a new plaque honoring the Horse-Drawn Street Cars, a new exhibit in the Opera House, the new Walt Disney – A Magical Life show, a tribute to the Sherman Brothers in the Main Street Cinema, and more! Throughout the Disneyland Resort, merchandise and foods that are a nod to Disneyland’s past can be found.

Over at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, there is a costume on display in the lobby. This is the costume of a Disneyland VIP Hostess for the winter season from 1961-1962. There is a description found on the display that says the following:

As we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the
Disneyland Resort, we honor the commitment
of our Cast who deliver exceptional
experiences for our VIP Guests.

On display is a reproduction of the costume
worn during the Winter Season of 1961-1962.
VIP Hostess Donna Jackson Clark is pictured
on Main Street, U.S.A., proudly wearing this
iconic ensemble.

Though the VIP Tour Guide costume has
evolved through the decades, our commitment
to Celebrate Happy alongside every Guest
remains at the heart of what we do.

Daps Magic team member Steven stopped by the display and took the following photos of this vintage Disneyland VIP Hostess costume:
