Vice President J.D. Vance stopped by the Happiest Place on Earth for some Disney magic with his family. Throughout the Disneyland Resort, beefed-up security could be seen leading into the weekend. The FAA also restricted flights in the Disneyland Resort area for the weekend.
On Saturday morning, the Vice President and his family could be seen enjoying Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Bayou Country. A video of their visit popped up on social media, with the family appearing to have fun.
The Orange County Register originally reported on the Vice President’s visit to Orange County, California, reporting that a trip to Disneyland was possible. As is the case with visits like this, neither the Disneyland Resort nor the White House commented on the movements of the Vice President.

The flight restrictions for the area remain in effect from Friday, July 11, at 5:30 PM until Sunday, July 13, at 9:30 AM. Outside of the Disneyland Resort, protestors could be seen demonstrating their displeasure over the Vice President’s visit.
Vice President Vance isn’t the first sitting Vice President to visit the Disneyland Resort. In 1955 and then again in 1959, Vice President Nixon visited Disneyland. During the second visit, Vice President Nixon and his family were infamously the first guests to get to experience the Monorail. In 1988, Vice President George H.W. Bush also visited Disneyland. This was during his campaign to become President of the United States. This trip infamously led to the then-Vice President avoiding a photo with Mickey Mouse.
When Disneyland opened in 1955, Walt Disney said, “To all who come to this happy place, welcome.” In the seven decades since, this has included dignitaries of all types, including the Vice President of the United States.
Daps Magic is not sharing photos or videos of the Vice President on this trip, as this is not an official visit associated with the office of the Vice President. This is also in an effort to respect the children who traditionally are shielded from the media. If the Vice President chooses to share a photo of this trip publicly, this post will be updated.
