On this day in 2010, The Taste of Africa Street Party kicked off officially in Harambe at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Beginning each night with Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade, the event included live music, DJ dance parties, regional food and drink tastings, African-made souvenirs, and animal education experiences. The cost of food tasting portions ranged from $2.50 – $4.00 each. The street party ran for only about two weeks, until July 24. [15 years ago in 2025]
