Yesterday was the final day of operations for the attractions that are a part of the Rivers of America at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Today, the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island were both closed. This comes ahead of a transformation of the area into Piston Peak with two attractions themed to the world of Pixar’s Cars.
Today, with the closure of the Rivers of America, the map for Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort has been updated to reflect the change. Where the Rivers of America once could be found on maps, there is now a big green expanse. Below is a look at what the map of Magic Kingdom looks like in this area in the My Disney Experience app:
At this time, it isn’t known when Piston Peak will be opening at Walt Disney World Resort. People who were visiting the Walt Disney World Resort today noted that work has already begun on the transformation.
