On this day in 2009, over 1,000 immigrants became American citizens in a mass-naturalization ceremony held in front of Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. The participants ranged in age from 18 to 82 years old and even included 25 Cast Members. Actor Andy Garcia, himself a naturalized citizen, was the keynote speaker. After the ceremony, the group was invited to preview the newly refurbished Hall of Presidents attraction.
