Avatar: Fire and Ash

First Trailer for ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ to Play Before ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’

The first trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash will soon be available to see. Today, various social media handles across The Walt Disney Company shared that the trailer will be shown ahead of The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third movie in the Avatar franchise, is set to arrive in theaters on December 19, 2205. Following the arrival of this film, the fourth and fifth Avatar films will be heading to theaters on December 21, 2029, and then December 19, 2031, respectively.

This won’t be the first time this trailer has been seen. It was first shown exclusively at CinemaCon in April. The trailer shows the lush world of Pandora and also introduces two new Na’vi tribes: The soaring Wind Traders, who first traverse the skies on vehicles that look like hot air balloons, and the Fire People, who ride on flying beasts. The two clans clash and one Na’vi gets hit with a flaming arrow.

“We can not live like this, baby,” Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) tells his wife Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) in the trailer. “We can not live with this hate.”

Avatar: Fire and Ash takes place right after Avatar: The Way of Water. That film followed Jake and his family as they teamed with Pandora’s water tribe, the Metkayina, to fight against the tyrannical Resources Development Administration. In the new films, they will be up against the Ash People, who have now defected from Jake’s Na’vi clan and their nature-worshipping religion.

The first two films in the Avatar franchise both passed $2 billion at the global box office. They are currently at the 1st and 3rd most successful films in history. If Avatar: Fire and Ash reaches this milestone as well, the Avatar franchise will be the first ever to have three movies reaching $2 billion at the box office.
