Amy Sedaris - The Mandalorian

Amy Sedaris Joins Cast of Jon Favreau’s ‘Oswald the Lucky Rabbit’ Series

The cast of Jon Favreau’s Oswald the Lucky Rabbit series continues to round out. Previously, it was revealed that  Ravi Cabot-Conyers (Skeleton CrewEncanto), Mykal-Michelle Harris (Raven’s HomeMixed-ish), and Ryder Allen (The PenguinPalmer) had joined the cast. Now, Variety is reporting that comedian Amy Sedaris has joined the cast.

According to Variety, Sedaris will be playing Taylor, the mother of Allen’s character. It is the most recent collaboration between Sedaris and Favreau. She previously appeared in Chef, which Favreau both wrote, directed, and starred in. She also lent her voice to a Guinea Fowl in Favreau’s 2019 remake of The Lion King. On top of that, Sedaris also played the character of Peli Motto in Favreau’s Disney+ series The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

Favreau is the writer, executive producer, and director for the Oswald the Lucky Rabbit series. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks in 1927, and Universal Pictures distributed the shorts. He starred in many shorts between 1927 and 1938. However, after Disney lost control of the character, Mickey Mouse was created in 1928. As for Oswald, he eventually fell into obscurity at Universal Pictures. That is, until Bob Iger traded Al Michaels for the trademark of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, and he returned to Disney in 2006. Since then, Oswald has appeared in some video games, some shorts, and even in Disney Parks. In 2022, Disney created an original short with him.
