On this day in 1995, Space Mountain: De la Terre à la Lune opened in Discoveryland at Disneyland Paris. The attraction was based off of Jules Verne’s novel, ‘From Earth to the Moon’ and had a victorian steam punk style. Guests boarded “moon trains” which blasted off from a Columbiad cannon. Paris’ version is the tallest and most thrilling Space Mountain, with a launch and three inversions. It was rethemed to Space Mountain: Mission 2 in 2005. [30 years ago in 2025]
