Today is 626 Day (6-26), an unofficial holiday where fans of Disney’s Lilo & Stitch celebrate Experiment 626. With the live-action version of Lilo & Stitch on its way to surpassing $1 billion at the box office, Disney has announced that a second film is on the way.
In a new video released by Disney, Stitch arrives at the Walt Disney Studios lot in his pink convertible. He drives through the lot, eventually arriving at Stage 2. There, he shouts “Get ready. HERE WE GO!” He then begins racing around, ultimately peeling out and writing “Lilo And Stitch” on a parking lot with his tires. Underneath his writing, “is in development” appeared after Stitch disappeared at the end of the video.
The news of the new Lilo & Stitch film comes as the current version has surpassed $910 million at the global box office since being released on Memorial Day Weekend. Here is the video that Disney shared:
