The Boneyard - DinoLand - Disney's Animal Kingdom

Last Day for The Boneyard  at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Announced by Walt Disney World Resort

As DinoLand makes the transformation into the Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, more things continue to close. While TriceraTop Spin, the Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures all closed earlier this year, the closing date for The Boneyard play area will be the next part of Dino Land to close. The Walt Disney World Resort website revealed that September 1st will be the final day to experience this area of Dino Land. It will be closed starting September 2, 2025.

The transformation of DinoLand to Tropical Americas will be completed by sometime in 2027. In the meantime, some areas of Dino Land will remain open throughout 2025. This includes DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus.

The Disney Parks Blog has shared some details about the future 11-acre Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, including its official name, Pueblo Esperanza.

Tropical Americas — better known as Pueblo Esperanza — will be a new 11-acre lush and sprawling area. Just like Harambe, this land will feel lived in, with a long, rich history. Not only will the land include a hacienda — which will be one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Disney World Resort — but also two signature attractions for Indiana Jones and Encanto.

Additionally, the area will feature a large fountain in the center and a local woodcarver has created a giant working carousel featuring his favorite animals from Disney stories. It’s a new take on a classic attraction that young families are going to love.

There will also be a new themed play area for kids visiting Pueblo Esperanza.
