On this day in 1940, the Pluto cartoon ‘Bone Trouble’ was released. When birds empty Pluto’s food dish, he steals a tasty bone from his neighbor, Butch the Bulldog. Butch chases Pluto across town and into a carnival. Pluto uses the funhouse mirrors to distract Butch and escape with his prize! ‘Bone Trouble’ was the first in the “Pluto” series and the directorial debut of Jack Kinney.
