On this day in 1935, the Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation was formed after a merger between Fox Film Corporation and Twentieth Century Pictures. In the company’s new format, it became one of the original “Big Five” among the eight major studios of Hollywood’s Golden Age. Fox produced many of the highest-grossing films of all time like ‘Avatar’ and ‘Titanic.’ The company is now known as 20th Century Studios after it was purchased by Disney. [90 years ago in 2025]
