On this day in 1920, legendary singer and actress Peggy Lee was born. For Disney, she contributed significantly to the 1955 animated feature ’Lady and the Tramp.’ Lee gave voice to “Darling,” the human wife, Peg the dog, and the Siamese cat duo, Si and Am. She sang three of the film’s songs, which she also co-wrote with Francis “Sonny” Burke. Memorable titles include “He’s A Tramp,” “La La Lu,” and “The Siamese Cat Song.” Lee’s career lasted over 60 years. [105 years ago in 2025]
