When the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration kicked off on May 16th, guests could hear some of their favorite Disney tunes played by a music box when they entered and exited Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. This music box music was the main music in the Esplanade between those two parks. Last week, the music was updated to music that encapsulates what this milestone celebration is all about. The new music is a celebration of the Disneyland Resort past and present.
The music box music has not disappeared completely, however. It can now be heard in the evenings as guests exit Disneyland and Disney California Adventure into the Esplanade and make their way to their hotels and homes. The music begins after the fireworks and makes for a wonderful kiss goodnight on the way home. It appears this begins at 10:00 PM.
Daps Magic team member Angela enjoyed an evening at the Happiest Place on Earth and filmed the entire music box Esplanade loop. Below is the video that she shot:
Traditionally, the music in the Esplanade remains the same throughout the day and evening during a celebration at the Disneyland Resort. Having a primary music loop that is followed by this “kiss goodnight” is a lovely change of pace. It makes for a magical way to depart the parks and say goodnight.
What do you think of this music loop being played in the Esplanade late at night? What is your favorite song on this loop? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
