Matterhorn Bobsleds Closure

Disneyland’s Matterhorn Bobsleds Close for Refurbishment

The Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland are now closed. The attraction is now closed for refurbishment. This is something that regularly happens each year for the attraction. Cast members could be seen out in front of the closed attraction on Monday morning. Walls will presumably replace them in the coming days and weeks.

Daps Magic team member stopped by Disneyland on Monday morning. While the attraction is closed, many of the bobsleds themselves were still out. This led to some beautiful pictures of the attraction before it was hidden for its refurbishment. Check out Steven’s photos below.

The Matterhorn Bobsleds first opened on June 14, 1959. It was built on the former location of “Holiday Hill” at Disneyland. It is the first roller-coaster-style attraction at Disneyland and the first tubular steel coaster in the world. It is the only Matterhorn Mountain that is found in any Disney park. Here is a ride-through of the attraction:

At this time, there isn’t a reopening date for the Matterhorn Bobsleds. Daps Magic will continue to monitor this project and provide updates when they are known.
