June is Black Music Month, and the Disneyland Resort will be celebrating in multiple ways throughout the resort. This includes entertainment, menu items, a display, and more. The following will be offered at the Disneyland Resort during June for this year’s Black Music Month:
Entertainment
Tiana’s Palace
Along with serving Creole- and Cajun-inspired dishes, Tiana’s Palace will also have some entertainment offerings throughout Black History Month. This includes the following:
- June 1, 7, 8, 28, and 29: CFLC All-Star Brass Band
- June 14 and 15: Got Rhythm!
- June 21 and 22: CFLC Zydeco Quartet
These performances will be at the following times:
- 1:00 PM
- 2:30 PM
- 3:30 PM
- 4:30 PM
Refreshment Corner
At Refreshment Corner, Celebrating Scott Joplin will be offered as the ragtime pianist plays the music of the “King of Ragtime.”

Downtown Disney LIVE! stage
At the Downtown Disney LIVE! stage, there will be Community Weekends. This will feature R&B, hip hop, reggae, funk, and more.
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa Pool Deck
At the pool deck of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, there will be easy summer listening, including neo-soul, lo-fi hip-hop, and R&B.
Paradise Garden Bandstand
Over at Paradise Garden Bandstand in Disney California Adventure, there will be live musical performances daily, celebrating the fundamental genres of Black music history.

There will be two specialty items found at Disneyland during Black History Month (June 3-30). They include:

Displays
Main Street, U.S.A. Window Display
On Main Street, U.S.A., there will be a window display that highlights the overshadowed Black banjo masters of the early 20th century. The display will feature instruments, posters, and recordings. It honors the artists of the time and the banjo’s African roots, aligning with the contemporary Black roots rediscovery movement.
Golden Horseshoe
The exhibit Black Music at the Turn of the 20th Century will be found at the Golden Horseshoe. This exhibit will showcase the history and preservation of Black country music. It will have props, décor, and information about the genre that inspired much of American culture.
Characters
Tiana
Tiana will be found around the streets of New Orleans Square or at the Royal Hall. Meet with Tiana and hear her tell tales of the bayou!
Ariel (From the Live-Action The Little Mermaid)
Find Ariel as she has become a part of our world near it’s a small world.
