On this day in 1940, the Donald Duck and Goofy cartoon ‘Billposters’ was released. It was the third of only six shorts in the Donald and Goofy series, produced between 1938 and 1947. In ‘Billposters,’ Donald and Goofy are tasked with putting up ads for a soup company. Goofy keeps losing his tools to the blades of a windmill, and Donald picks a fight with a goat who won’t stop eating the posters. The duo sings “Whistle While You Work” from ‘Snow White,’ then a recent release. [85 years ago in 2025]
