Alaska Airlines Reveals New Disneyland Resort-themed Plane, ‘Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Flyer’

Alaska Airlines has revealed a new, beautifully painted Disneyland Resort-themed plane. The plane, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Flyer, brings Princess Tiana’s story to life in the skies, the airline says. The plane is the ninth Disneyland Resort-themed plane. It is the first one to feature Princess Tiana.

The Boeing 737-800 debuted at Portland International Airport this morning before making the trip down to Santa Ana, California. The plane is inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ The Princess and the Frog. It also arrives just before the Disneyland Resort begins its 70th anniversary celebration.

“Every journey should be as magical as the destination, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Flyer brings that wonder to the skies in a way that perfectly complements our commitment to creating remarkable journeys. This aircraft captures Princess Tiana’s love for exploration and adventure, inspiring our guests to embrace new possibilities and create memories along the way,” said Eric Edge, Vice President of Brand and Marketing, Alaska Airlines.

The intricate design on the plane was created by artists who took over 2,000 hours to complete the paint job. Some beautiful and joyful details show Louise the Alligator splashing among the water lilies on the bayou and a brilliant trail of friendly fireflies that fly from the plane’s nose to tail. Mama Odie and Prince Naveen can be seen on the winglets. For some added fun onboard, kids have the opportunity to purchase and enjoy Tiana’s Bayou Adventure snack pack. This will begin to be available this summer and continue to be sold while supplies last.

Along with being the ninth Disneyland Resort-themed aircraft that Alaska Airlines has had, it is also the first to feature a Disney Princess. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Flyer (tail number N596AS) will be available for guests to fly aboard for the next several years throughout Alaska’s route network. This will add extra magic to each flight.

For more than 25 years, Alaska Airlines and Disneyland Resort have collaborated to bring magic and happiness to the skies,” said Sybil Crum, vice president of marketing and commercial strategy at Disneyland Resort. “As Disneyland Resort prepares to celebrate its 70th anniversary, this latest addition honors our legacy and looks ahead to a bright future with Princess Tiana leading the way.”

The Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration begins on May 16, 2025. It will continue through the summer of 2026. This celebration will include entertainment, colorful decor, food, merchandise, and lots of opportunities to make magical memories. Daps Magic will be on hand to cover all of these things.

This newest plane joins quite a few different Disneyland Resort-themed planes from Alaska through the years. This includes:

  • Mickey’s Toontown Express – Mickey and Minnie are joined by Goofy, Pluto, Donald & Daisy at Mickey’s Toontown
  • Star Wars Transport to the Disneyland Resort – A plane that celebrates Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
  • Friendship and Beyond at Disneyland Resort – Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie in Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure
