On this day in 1983, then-U.S. President Ronald Reagan visited EPCOT Center as part of his International Youth Exchange Initiative. The President watched “The American Adventure” and then gave remarks to international students from the World Showcase Fellowship Program. The students would represent their countries in the World Showcase for a year. President Reagan promoted a message of cross-cultural understanding as a pathway to peace.
