The cast of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is being revealed in a novel way. Today, a multi-hour-long livestream has revealed the cast. The cast has been revealed one chair at a time. New cast members have been revealed approximately every 10 to 15 minutes since the livestream started this morning. In total, the livestream lasted around five and a half hours.
The cast list has some expected cast members and also some surprises. This includes returning cast members to the MCU Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Letitia Wright as Shuri, and Winston Duke as M’Baku.
Some of the surprises include Tenoch Huerta Mejía, who appeared as Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Channing Tatum as Gambit is also returning to the MCU after appearing in Deadpool & Wolverine in the role. On top of that, there will be Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Robecca Romeijn as Mystique.
Other cast members include Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing from The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Lewis Pullman as the mysterious Bob from Thunderbolts are joining the film as is Simu Liu as Shang-Chi.
The livestream ended with Robert Downey Jr. (Doctor Doom) walking in and sitting on the last chair, his chair. He then put his finger up in front of his face and said “shhhh” before gesturing at the chair. This was followed by a slide taking over the screen announcing that the film has gone into production.
