This week was World Compliment Day. To date, over 2.6 million cast compliments have been submitted through the apps at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. On World Compliment Day, Disney shared about one cast member who is in the Disney College Program. His name is Andrew and he has received over 550 compliments in his six months in the college program.

“When I get a Cast Compliment, it reminds me that I’m making this parking lot as magical as I can,” said Andrew. “If I can create magic in a parking lot, I can create magic anywhere.”

Andrew shares his passion for creating happiness in many different ways. This includes singing announcements, creating parking-themed versions of Disney songs, and making magical moments for guests.

“Receiving compliments is awesome, but I do this because the guest experience is truly important to me,” he said. “As a parking cast member, I’m the first and last person guests encounter. I get to set the mood and meet the expectations that come with a visit to Disney World.”

While guests can leave compliments for cast members through the apps of each Resort, other Disney cast members can also compliment each other. This is done through a digital tool called RecognizeNow! Over the last ten years, this tool has sent nearly six million gratitude messages between cast members.

These shows of gratitude not only make the cast members feel appreciated but also add to the magic of the gratitude giver’s day. An attitude of gratitude always makes a day at Disney (or a day in general) so much better.

How Do I Give a Cast Compliment?

Giving a cast compliment really is quite simple. Here is how it is done:

  1. Open either the Disneyland app or Walt Disney World’s My Disney Experience app
  2. Navigate to the bottom of the app’s menu screen and select “Cast Compliment”
  3. Choose the type of compliment you want to give from the drop-down menu
  4. Enter the cast member’s first name and hometown
  5. Select submit

Note: Be sure to spell the cast member’s first name correctly so they receive the compliment!
