Dug, Carl, & Russell Visit Bakso the Tiger Cub at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Disney Shares Video of Dug, Russell, and Carl Seeing New Tiger Cub at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Bakso, the new Sumatran tiger cub at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, has been getting a lot of attention. Some people waited for a considerable amount of time to get a glimpse of the young tiger cub. Recently, Dug, Russell, and Carl from Pixar’s Up made their way over to explore the jungles of Asia at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While they were exploring, they were also able to see Bakso and his mother Sohni. They watched as the mother and cub playfully pounced and prowled together in their beautiful habitat which is filled with cascading waterfalls, trees, hills, and logs that provide natural opportunities for these big cats to communicate, rest, hide, and explore.

Bakso is the first tiger cub born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in seven years. He is small in size currently but the attention he has drawn makes him the perfect ambassador for the declining population of Sumatran tigers left in the wild. Currently, there are less than 600. Since Bakso debuted, thousands of guests have made their way to see this critically endangered cub.

He has a personality that is both playful and full of curiosity. This has drawn excitement from the crowds and won over the hearts of all who have visited him. This includes Dug, Carl, and Russell.

Disney shared a video of Dug, Carl, and Russell on their adventure to see Bakso. Check it out here:

Bakso and his mother Sohni can be found by guests on the Maharajah Jungle Trek. This is also where guests can learn more about the unique striped pattern of Sumatran tigers and the challenges these big cats face in the wild. Young adventurers can also earn a Wilderness Explorer badge here. Through the Wilderness Explorer program, they can earn up to 20 badges as they explore nature’s wonders, learn about threatened and endangered species, and discover Disney’s commitment to conservation across the globe.
